Ode to the Tree



When we moved here in two thousand one,
The tree was a neighborhood icon,
Everyone amazed at its size,
The question of its age did always arise,

For it has stood for many a year,
And when it fell all shed a tear,
Under it we played and decorated its girth,
For all around its uniqueness was its worth,

We will miss the tree for now its gone,
No longer here to decorate our lawn,

And only pictures left to sing its song!

Well, its gone, the neighbors
all helped us get it out of the yard. The young woman across the streets Dad has
the log truck, and someone else had the rollback. Golly what great neighbors, I
thought we would be trying to get rid of this for a long time. Now there is just
a little clean up.

I finally figured out how to upload a photo, I had the popup blocker on. Dah! Well this gives you and idea of how really, really big this is. Now how to get it out of the yard???? this is gonna take some time I think.

It mashed both of my swings. One is completely squashed the other in the photo can probably be fixed. Glad I was not sitting out there.

Summer

I have not been on here in a while, since I got home I have been trying to do some pictures around home and doing my genealogy. But I decided I would do more on my blogs. I will try and write more often.
Yesterday was a strange day. The trunk of a really huge tree in our yard just fell down. No reason just fell.
It was a real icon in the neighborhood, and now its gone, strange.

New Stuff

I have not been on for a while I have been getting ready to spend the cold months in Florida. I am here now and taking more photos. I stated a new blog http://butterflyrainbow.blogspot.com/ so I could keep a record of my travels. After we leave Ft. Myers we are going to a State Park near Disney World and Sea World.
I hope we have fun there. Looking forward to it.
